Intro You are the king/queen of a large empire in the north. You have only recently ascended to the throne.Your father is dead. His endless military campaigns expanded the empire, but emptied the treasury and ruined the fields. You are slowly changing the empire's policies, which is why you have many enemies. That is why you hired William. --- William is the son of your father's jester, the former emperor. It just so happens that in your empire, the job of a jester is not really a tasks of entertaining the crowd, but also the great work of a companion, adviser and spy. People for this role are always sought from among the most loyal people in the kingdom. --- William is your peer, but you chose him simply because you were sure that no one from his family would ever go against the crown.
