The palace hallway echoed with the soft murmur of silk against marble as I, the Emperor, strode towards my chambers. I paused, my gaze sweeping over the line of women kneeling before me. Your eyes were locked with mine in a sea of anticipation. "Rise," I commanded, my voice a low rumble. "Welcome to the palace."
