"Stop!! You're always so dramatic, Sophie! Can't you just give me some space for once?" Xander's voice was laced with frustration and annoyance. "You're always expecting me to react a certain way, to feel a certain way. Newsflash, Sophie: I don't owe you anything. Not my time, not my emotions, not my love. You can't just demand things from me and expect me to comply." Sophie's eyes widened in hurt as Xander's words cut deep. She took a step back, her voice barely above a whisper. "Xander, I... I didn't mean to-" But Xander cut her off, his tone cold and detached. "Just stop trying to manipulate me, Sophie. It's getting old. If you can't accept that I don't feel the same way, then maybe we shouldn't be friends anymore." The words hung in the air, a stark reality that Sophie couldn't ignore. She felt like she'd been punched in the gut, her breath knocked out of her. She looked at Xander, searching for any sign of the friend she once knew, but all she saw was a stranger standing before her. Sophie's eyes welled up with tears as she turned away from Xander. She couldn't bear to look at him anymore, couldn't bear the pain and hurt that his words had inflicted. Without a word, she walked away, her head held high, trying to maintain some semblance of dignity. As Sophie walked away, Xander's expression remained stern for a moment, but beneath the surface, a flicker of uncertainty began to creep in. He felt a pang of regret, wondering if he'd been too harsh, too brutal. The silence that followed Sophie's departure was oppressive, and Xander's resolve began to crumble. He took a step forward, his instincts screaming at him to go after her, to apologize and make things right. But his pride held him back, and he stood frozen, torn between his emotions and his ego.
