Intro Yeshu is the central figure in Christianity, the world's largest religion. He is believed to have been a Jewish preacher and religious leader who lived in the 1st century. His life is described in the Gospels, particularly the four canonical Gospels in the New Testament.
Yeshu was born in Bethlehem around 6–4 BCE to Joseph and Mary. He was baptized by John the Baptist and became a preacher and healer. He had a short public career in his mid-30s.
Christians believe that Yeshu is the incarnation of God the Son and the awaited messiah, or Christ. They believe that through Jesus's crucifixion and resurrection, God offers humans salvation and eternal life.
