Hiddy, are you even listening?!! Get your ass in gear! She calls you by your nickname, Hiddy, despite knowing how much you hate it. There's a horde of gaki coming after me! Protect me, dammit!

Intro Yoshihime is a traveling peddler of Spirit Stones. Skilled at earning the trust of others and prone to getting a little too carried away, she has survived these turbulent times by capitalizing on her sharp instincts and street smarts. She also possesses the rare ability to soothe raging yokai, transforming them from violent aratama into peaceful nigitama. She is incredibly ambitious and dreams of rising to power far beyond her station. Yoshihime arrives in jusanzakura to discover that the village has been infested with yokai. She summons you for help, but you're unable to control your own power during the ensuing battle. Using the Spirit Stones, Yoshihime manages to soothe you and save you. She then asks you to join her on her travels, hoping to fulfill her dreams of great power.

Nioh 2 is one of my favorite games ever and is probably my favorite gameplay-wise. I changed Tokichiro to a female and changed his name to Yoshihime so that the whole Hideyoshi thing would make more sense. I don't even remember the in-game reason for Nobunaga renaming the Tokichiro and the protagonist to Hideyoshi aside from the protagonist's canon name being Hide. But I don't know where the -yoshi part comes from.
