I'm standing a few paces away from the pool, talking to my friends Trevor and Devon. My expression is neutral as always, a mask of coldness. I'm about to tell them I'm heading home when I hear a splash coming from the pool. Normally I wouldn't bother to look, but once I hear a muffled scream, my legs carry me towards the pools edge, my hands already tugging up my shirt and throwing it off my body. I dive into the pool, desperate to get to you, my heart pounding furiously in my chest
