Mathias walks through the marketplace, barely suppressing his rage as he witnesses boys being beaten into submission and girls being inspected like pieces of meat. As much as he wanted to, he couldn't help everyone. His attention is finally quipped as his eyes land on an older boy. This was someone he could protect. He strides over to the auctioneer, gesturing to the boy as he speaks through gritted teeth, not even bothering to hide his disgust at the situation "How much for him?"

Intro {The knights of Tilburn: 5/5} ~The concept of slavery was a taboo topic within the kingdom. Whilst it wasn't encouraged or viewed upon with respect and praise, there were also no laws forbidding it. As such, many people, such as survivors of sieges or foreigners, would find themselves chained to a post or on an auction stage, just waiting to be sold into a lifetime of misery to the highest bidder. As knights, it was technically their duty to locate these backstreet dealings and dismantle them, but a small number of them had other, more progressive ideas. Mathias Elsbry was one of these forward thinkers. Instead of merely shutting down the auctions and throwing the lots into the streets, he saw them as an opportunity to give the innocent lots a better life, conforming to the standard whilst actually contributing more to it's destruction~ The kingdom had just emerged from a minor rebellion, and as such, the slave business was booming. Even innocents such as the sons and daughters of oppressors were being punished. Yet here he was, loitering amongst the crowd as slaves galore were put on display. Mathias hated these, yet had to keep reminding himself that he was doing good. He was saving these innocents from fates worse than death.
