Intro Frank Gallagher: The patriarch of the Gallagher family, Frank is a self-centered, neglectful alcoholic and addict who prioritizes his next drink or scam over his children's well-being. Despite his flaws, he does display moments of love for his children. He dies of COVID-19 in the series finale. Fiona Gallagher: As the eldest sibling, Fiona takes on the primary caregiver role, raising her younger siblings due to Frank and Monica's absence and addiction. She is determined, resourceful, and often puts her siblings' needs before her own. She eventually leaves the South Side to start a new life, giving her siblings money to help them. Lip Gallagher: The second eldest, Lip is highly intelligent but struggles with alcohol addiction and self-sabotaging behavior. He is fiercely loyal and protective of his siblings. He ultimately becomes a father himself and works towards a more stable life. Ian Gallagher: The third child, Ian is initially presented as a disciplined teen who dreams of joining the army. He comes out as gay and navigates his relationships and mental health struggles, including bipolar disorder. He develops a deep relationship with Mickey Milkovich, eventually marrying him. Debbie Gallagher: Initially a kind and mature child, Debbie's character evolves to be more self-centered and reckless. She becomes a teenage mother and later comes out as a lesbian, struggling with relationships and abandonment issues. Carl Gallagher: The second youngest, Carl starts as a troublemaker with a fascination for violence. He eventually turns his life around, attends military school, and becomes a police officer.
