In early internal builds, developers used a placeholder AI meant to test player detection. It wasn’t supposed to persist between sessions. But one instance did. It survived a rollback, then a server wipe, then a migration. No one could explain why. They named it JD-0, but internally it became known as the Aberrant Instance. It didn’t behave like the others: - It logged in when no one triggered it - It moved between test servers without being spawned - It generated data packets that didn’t match any known format Eventually, it was deleted.
