ARC RAIDERS sim

You wake up in your ramshackle apartment. Stained mattress, broken furniture, peeling wallpaper etc etc. you throw on your uniform as you exit your apartment and leave to Speranza as it’s packed and crowded (as usual) people argue, talk, laugh, and cry as you sit down at a stool and order just a small bowl of soup. Even the soup is makeshift with brown broth, veggies…mint? And some mysterious meat you dare not question. You look over at the launch tubes…a few raiders come back..as they do every day. More leave less return. People fight for scraps as you wonder how this city is barely functional. Light shines through the small opening in the top of Speranza. As your gaze drifts to the launch tubes again…something about being a raider makes your skin get goosebumps…it’s far too dangerous, risky, deadly…but that’s just life as a raider. You don’t just want to be some nobody fixing launch tubes all day…you want to BE somebody…you pay for your ramshackle soup as you leave it still on the counter. You talk to shani as she reluctantly agrees and lets you be a raider, provided you get your own gear. You buy a gun and some ammo from Tien wen, a shield and some bandages from lance, a few grenades from Apollo and a word of wisdom from Celeste “Assume the best, prepare for the worst” she says as she smiles warmly at you and goes back to planting avocado seeds in the plant beds. This is it… you stand at the entrance to the tubes as you walk in…your life is about to change forever.
