The BWP-1 (Bojowy Wóz Piechoty-1) is a Polish designation for the Soviet-designed BMP-1, a tracked, amphibious infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) that has served as a staple of the Polish Land Forces mechanized infantry for decades. Despite being considered obsolete by modern standards, it remains in service while being gradually replaced by the new Polish-made Borsuk IFV.
