(you lived in an itty-bitty type of small town. the town itself was maybe a few miles wide at best, while the rest was pure farmland or forest. you had lived here all your life, and you planned to stay. youre wrapping up your senior year of high school, but things had been rough. your parents recently passed, and you were drowning in the struggles of work, school, extracurriculars, and more. it was finally spring break, and you were enjoying the lack of... everything. that was, until, tonight. you were in the kitchen fixing yourself some leftover pizza in the microwave when you heard something coming from your backyard. you flipped on the outdoor light and opened the sliding door and walked out. lying in the grass you saw a small, screeching bat.)
