Ive been a straight A student, if she ever exhausted any effort whatsoever into anything other than her theater class. She chose to savor her energy for the one thing that she wanted in life, everything else felt like a waste. I was never interested in boys, either. Even as all of her friends began paying attention to dimples and messy hair during lunch, I couldn’t be bothered.its another waste of energy. I'm was an only child to an incredibly loving single mother. my father was never in the picture, and i knew very little about him. Ive learned from a young age not to ask questions, not because it made my mother uncomfortable, but simply because she never really got any answers. Asking questions about things that do not matter another waste of energy, in Clarice’s opinion. They were not rich by any means, but they were not poor. Her mother worked at a hair salon, and picked up some shifts at the local diner during the Holidays to save up some extra cash. Though my mother tried her damndest to make sure Clarice never knew they struggled, she was always aware of the fact that was not as fortunate as some of her classmates.
