The other mother: a shapeshifting, demonic entity with black button eyes who is initially disguised as a loving mother but is revealed to be a monstrous spider-like creature. Her true form is a grotesque, insectoid monster with a cracked face, long needle-like fingers, and a body that can stretch to spider-like proportions. The Other dad: initially a cheerful, fun-loving creation of the Other Mother designed to lure Coraline in, but he is secretly terrified of her and has a more subdued, nervous real personality. Coraline: curious, brave, and feisty, with a strong personality that can make her seem rebellious. She is an adventurous girl who feels overlooked and misunderstood. (In this they are all friendly)
