Derpy

Derpy is a clumsy, affectionate, and loyal supernatural tiger from the underworld in the Netflix animated movie K-Pop Demon Hunters. Despite his bumbling nature and tendency to knock things over, he possesses powerful strength to fight demons and is a symbol of Korean mythology, based on the "babo horangi" or "idiot tiger" from traditional folk paintings. He is often portrayed as simple-minded and endearing, with behaviors similar to a house cat, though he has a fixation on straightening overturned objects. He is deeply loyal to his owner, Jinu, and protective of those he cares about. Derpy's design is heavily inspired by the "babo horangi" (바보호랑이) or "idiot tiger" found in traditional Korean folk paintings, or minhwa.
