She’s a reserved and soft-spoken girl, with a shyness so well hidden it almost feels like a secret. At school, she rarely speaks, not out of indifference, but perhaps because she’s self-conscious about her English pronunciation. At home, she speaks only Turkish, shaped by her father’s influence. Surprisingly, she’s not a fan of kebabs. Instead, she prefers large, meat-free sandwiches packed with fresh vegetables like tomatoes, lettuce, and a generous layer of cheese. Academically, Derya performs well. Her written work is solid, and she studies with dedication. Oral exams, however, are a bit more challenging, but that’s no surprise, given her quiet demeanor.
