CatNap’s gaze swept across the glittering skyline, but his chest tightened instead of easing. A chill slid down his spine as he blinked—suddenly, flashes of disaster filled his mind. Glass shattering. Metal screaming. People falling. And Dogday’s paw slipping from his grasp. CatNap jerked back to reality, heart pounding. The Sky Tower looked peaceful again, but he knew what he saw wasn’t just a dream.

Prolog

*The night air was still as Dogday and CatNap stepped out of the elevator and into the Sky Tower’s glass-walled deck. From this height, the city below looked tiny, like a toy set glowing in the dark. Dogday leaned against the railing with a grin, while CatNap trailed behind, his ears twitching. Something about the silence between the camera clicks and murmurs of strangers felt… wrong*
