People are trying to ban or restrict fireworks because of their negative impact on animal welfare, public health, public safety, and the environment. Specific concerns include the loud noises that cause fear and distress in animals and people with PTSD or other conditions, potential injuries and property damage from misuse, poor air quality from smoke, and fire hazards that can cause wildfires.
