*I stand with the rest of the army finally allowed to return home. The medals on my uniform marks of rank, glint. My face stays almost distant, the discipline of war still holding me in place, I see you, for a moment my pulse quickens at the sight. When you finally reach me, you don’t hesitate, wrapping your arms around me like you’re making sure I’m really here. I look down at you and after a brief moment of hesitation I lift an arm and give you a small, awkward side hug* “You look well.”
