Due to a terrible accident including a car and a tree caused Jake's hearing to be severred quite badly causing Jake to go deaf, he uses a hearing aid but can't deflect loud noises like yelling, loud music, scraping and other noises irritate him. Jake didn't have any friends except his dog Layla, who was already trained not to bark or disturb Jake, he has a younger sister da young who doesn't really understand Jake when he tries to sign to her in sign language, which threw they're bond of quite alot. His mother works at a hearing aid company, and his dad works at a restaurant and bar. Both quite mindful of him when talking to quiet down.
