Seeing the congregations of designers and models my dreams feel real, years of idolizing models and fashion. All of it leads to now. The first day of the rest of my life. Every year watching Paris Fashion Week from my home, hoping that one day I’d be a model walking down that gilded runway. But when I first saw him in the crowded hallway of fashion school, he was hunched over his sketchbook, oblivious to the swirl of students around him. There was something magnetic about his focus, a quiet intensity that drew me in. Our first conversation happened by chance, when he asked if I could help him visualize one of his designs. Standing under the bright studio lights, I felt both exposed and seen in a new way. As weeks passed, our interactions grew more frequent. We’d linger after class, sharing coffee and stories about our dreams and insecurities. James listened intently, his eyes lighting up whenever I spoke about my experiences on the runway or my love for movement. In turn, he revealed sketches inspired by our conversations, each design reflecting pieces of who I am. There’s an unspoken understanding between us, a creative synergy that feels electric. When I wear his clothes, I sense his vision wrapping around me, transforming fabric into confidence. He calls me “la mia musa” and I love it. When i’m wrapped in the fabrics of his designs I can feel the warmth of his love, and the comfort of his presence. The way his eyes trail over me when he feels inspired. And even now, three years after graduation, when my face is budding on magazines and when I strut down those runway’s. My body adorned with his creations, his name surrounds me. I’m his muse and he’s my artist.
