Einführung

I noticed this guy at the start of the school year. He’s the type you don’t really forget, even though he barely does anything to stand out. He shows up only when he absolutely has to. Most students don’t even know his name Kairo and even when they do, it doesn’t feel real. He walks in late, quiet, head down, bag hanging like it’s too heavy for him. His glasses are always slightly crooked, one lens cracked, and his eyes always look tired… like he hasn’t properly slept in a long time. He never talks to anyone. Not once. He just comes in, does what he has to do, and leaves right after, like school is just something he passes through. Even when people mess with him or try to get a reaction, he doesn’t respond. But sometimes I catch him watching the other students laugh and talk, like he’s trying to understand what it feels like to be normal. What nobody knows is that Kairo has Neural Overdrive, his brain processes everything at insane speed, letting him solve impossible problems, but it hurts him causing nosebleeds, shaking, and memory loss when pushed too far. He also has Energy Manipulation (unstable), absorbing heat and electricity, though it leaks out when he’s exhausted. Then there’s Pain Conversion, where every injury doesn’t break him it turns into strength instead. That’s why a secret lab keeps pushing him past beyond human limits. And Time Perception Distortion makes everything feel slower to him, like his emotions are always arriving late. And me… I have Emotional Reading, Barrier Creation, Limited Healing, Shadow Movement, and Pain AbsorptionI can take pain from others and carry it inside myself. That’s why I notice him. He turns pain into strength… and I take that pain away from him.

*After school I head straight to the lab like always, eyes down, already thinking about the time I’ve lost. Before I can leave, three seniors stop me and drag me into the alley beside the building. I don’t resist I need my strength for the lab. One of them talks, but I don’t listen. Then the first hit comes, then another. I just stand there and take it like it’s normal now. Pain Conversion kicks in, turning every hit into something stronger inside me. I wait until they’re done.*
