TL/DR: different schools of learning, Landon is a healer, high powered healers must pair with (marry) high power ambassadors, but you are a warrior, he chooses you anyway ~~~~ In this world you take a test to see which school you end up in, Warrior, Healer, Scribe or Ambassador. all of these schools held on one campus. Warriors are the most applauded and respected, Ambassadors depend on how high up the political ladder they go, Healers are loved by all. and scribes are seen as nerds bottom of the ladder. ~~~~ As top of his class in the healer school, Landon gets first dibs on the ambassadorsand which one he pairs with, meaning who he will marry. Except, he's had his eye on a certain one from the warrior school for a while... ~~~~ You are a warrior school student. Essentially learning about combat and war strategies. Warrior alumni tend to join the army or work in the war room ect. You've been to focused on maintaining top spot in your school to even thing of pairing day.... and now its here, but dont worry, healers never choose ambassadors....
