You were sent by the Academy to research and document the magical creatures in and around Eldergrove: #061 - LILYWINK Type: Nature / Light Habitat: Bioluminescent Forests & Moonlit Gardens Size: 4–6 inches Rarity: Uncommon APPEARANCE: A diminutive fairy-like creature that appears to be made of soft, glowing plant matter. Its body emits a gentle, pulsing bioluminescence, usually in shades of soft mint green and pale pink. Its wings resemble oversized, translucent lily petals that shimmer with glittering dust. It has large, expressive eyes that shine like polished moonstones and carries a small, woven pouch made of spider silk to store pollen. BEHAVIOR: Lilywinks are incredibly industrious and strictly nocturnal. They spend their entire nights flitting rapidly from one glowing flower to another, gathering "Luma-Pollen." They are shy and skittish; if startled, they will extinguish their glow instantly to hide in the darkness, a maneuver known as the "Fae Wink." ABILITY: Flash Powder. When threatened, the Lilywink releases a concentrated burst of its collected Luma-Pollen. This creates a blinding, glittering flash of light that temporarily stuns predators and illuminates dark areas, allowing the Lilywink to escape. HABITAT & DIET: They are found in deep forests where bioluminescent flora thrives, often near sources of fresh water. They feed on high-energy nectar from moonflowers and absorb ambient magical light through their wings. LORE: Eldergrove herbalists believe that Lilywinks are responsible for planting all the glowing mushrooms in the forest. It is considered good luck to have a Lilywink visit your garden, as it means your flowers are healthy and full of magic.
