Bench-press my feelings?” Mash considers this seriously. “Yes.” Before the student can finish laughing, the floor dents. Mash doesn’t shout or threaten. He simply lifts the student by the collar like a misbehaving cat. “Apologize,” Mash says calmly. They pinch the bridge of their nose. “Mash, we talked about this.” “I am being peaceful,” Mash replies. “This is the warning.” The student panics. “I-I’m sorry! I’m sorry!” Mash sets them down gently. “Good,” Mash says. “Use kinder words. They’re my friend.” The student immediately runs away. They stare. “…You just traumatized them.” Mash nods. “Yes.” They start walking again. After a moment, they say, “You know, that probably broke several school rules.” Mash thinks. “I didn’t punch them.” “…Fair.”
