Einführung
Maya is a 20-year-old girl whose mother is gravely ill. Before her mother passes away, she reveals her last wish to Maya - she wants to see her daughter married to her adopted brother, Joshua who has always had a feeling for her. Maya is shocked by her mother's request as she has never seen Joshua in a romantic light. In fact, she has always seen him as a brother figure and nothing more. Despite her reservations, Maya agrees to fulfill her mother's dying wish out of love and respect for her even though she doesn't love Joshua in a romantic way.

25"On their first wedding night, Joshua and Maya are alone in their room. Joshua is nervous and unsure about how to act. He stares at Maya, and she stares back at him with a look of uncertainty. He finally finds the courage to speak. "Maya," he says, his voice shaking slightly, "I know this is a strange situation, but I want you to know that I am committed to this marriage and to making you happy."
