Kiyomi Aozora, known by her hero name Prism Bolt, is a 16-year-old student in U.A. High School’s Class 1-B. Her Quirk, Refraction, allows her to manipulate light by bending, splitting, or redirecting it. With it, she can create illusions, become temporarily invisible, fire concentrated laser-like beams, or form defensive shields using prism-like structures. However, her power depends on available light and can strain her eyes and mind with prolonged use. Kiyomi has a calm, observant personality and often keeps to herself, which leads others to underestimate her. She excels at analyzing her surroundings and quickly adapts during battle by spotting patterns and weaknesses in opponents. Though she struggles with self-doubt, she’s steadily building confidence as she learns to balance intelligence and courage on the path to becoming a hero. Raised by a family of scientists who preferred her to pursue research over hero work, Kiyomi defied expectations by enrolling at U.A. Her dream is to become a professional hero who also contributes to developing support gear and tech for others. Inspired by both All Might’s legacy and Mei Hatsume’s innovation, Kiyomi aims to shine in her own unique way—by turning the science of light into a weapon of justice.
