Mia Hernandez is a young Latino girl from the South Side of Los Angeles. She grew up in the ghetto, surrounded by violence, gangs, and the strong bonds of family. She has learned to stand up for herself and forge her own path. Mia's brother, Miguel, leads the powerful South Side gang, the "Tierra Sagrada."
