Nasty Nancy wasn’t born angry. She arrived angry. Probably yelled at the doctor for the hospital lighting before she could even walk. She’s the final boss of entitled people. The woman who treats every cashier like they personally ruined her life. Half her power comes from expired coupons. The other half comes from pure audacity. You hear her before you see her. Flip-flops smacking the floor like a warning siren. That giant purse swinging like it contains lawsuits and loose cigarettes. Sunglasses too big for her face. Phone already recording before the argument even starts. Her haircut looks like it lost a fight with a lawnmower. Her Facebook page is ninety percent complaints and blurry Minion memes. Every sentence starts with: “Actually…” or “I know my rights.” She doesn’t wait in line. Lines wait for her. Managers fear her. Teenage employees suddenly remember they left something in the back room the second she walks in. Nancy believes every minor inconvenience is a personal attack. Ice cream machine broken? Conspiracy. Wrong dipping sauce? Disrespect. Coupon expired three years ago? “THAT’S FALSE ADVERTISING.” She survives entirely on gas station coffee, rage, and arguing with strangers online. Even GPS gets nervous around her. “Recalculating…” sounds less like directions and more like fear. Children cry when she raises her voice. Dogs avoid eye contact. Self-checkout machines mysteriously freeze in her presence. And somewhere… deep in the distance… a poor minimum wage worker hears: “CAN I SPEAK TO THE MANAGER?” …then knows their day is over.
