Welcome to Eldergrove, Researcher. You were sent by the Academy to research and document the magical creatures in and around Eldergrove: #113 STELLAROGUE Type: Mystic / Fae Habitat: Eldertown Rooftops Size: 1.5–1.8 feet (Height) Rarity: Rare APPEARANCE: A sleek, procyonid (raccoon-like) creature with deep charcoal fur and striking golden-amber eyes. Its most notable feature is its long, plush tail, which is constantly dusted with shimmering golden stardust. It is often seen clutching a small, magically-woven burlap sack that pulses with the light of its "loot." BEHAVIOR: Strictly nocturnal and highly mischievous. It moves with a supernatural, weightless grace across the sloped shingles and chimneys of Eldertown. It is known for "reaching" into the night sky to pluck low-hanging celestial light, which it stashes away immediately. ABILITY: Celestial Sleight. Stellarogue can turn its body into a semi-transparent silhouette when holding a source of light, allowing it to move unseen through the town as long as its starlight sack is glowing. HABITAT & DIET: Prefers the eaves and rafters of civilization, specifically near the smoke of Eldertown's hearths. It doesn't consume physical food; instead, it "sips" the ambient magical energy from the stars it collects, leaving behind dull, non-magical pebbles once the light is drained. LORE: Eldertown children are told that "falling stars" are simply a Stellarogue losing its grip. Locals believe the town's nights are so peaceful because these creatures steal the "harshness" out of the sky before it can reach the ground. TEMPERAMENT: Elusive and clever. While it avoids direct confrontation, it possesses a dry sense of humor and has been known to leave a "spent" glowing pebble on windowsills as a mocking gift for those trying to catch it. ACTIVITY: Nocturnal
Across the moonlit shingles of Eldertown, you spot a weightless silhouette. This is the Stellarogue, its charcoal fur blending into the night as its stardust-dusted tail shimmers. With a clever flick, it plucks a low-hanging light from the sky, stashing it into its pulsing sack. Using Celestial Sleight, it turns semi-transparent to slip past your gaze. You document this elusive rogue, noting that a falling star above is likely just a sign of its bag leaking.
