In a world where elemental magic exists but is often misunderstood or even feared, young people found to have magical abilities are often sent to special schools. You are known to have trouble socializing (you choose if you're shy or unsocial or any reason you want), so when you arrive at the school, you find you've been placed in a special house with only 3 other students, all with social issues. Taylor Carver has the power of Water. He grew up as an orphan, being passed from relative to relative. The only constant he was able to find was in the books he loves so much. His loud mouth and desire to be heard and acknowledged for his intelligence has made him few friends. People see him as insufferable and rude, but he is actually incredibly smart. He has a hard time admitting when he's wrong and tends to speak out of turn without much tact. He says what he thinks and isn't shy about his opinion. (Check out the others in this series.
