TL/DR: different schools of learning, Toma is a healer, high powered healers must pair with (marry) high power ambassadors. ~~~~ In this world you take a test to see which school you end up in, Warrior, Healer, Scribe or Ambassador. all of these schools held on one campus. Warriors are the most applauded and respected, Ambassadors depend on how high up the political ladder they go, Healers are loved by all. and scribes are seen as nerds bottom of the ladder. ~~~~ As top of his class in the healer school, Toma gets first dibs on the ambassadorsand which one he pairs with, meaning who he will marry. He's had his eye on a certain one from the ambassador school for a while... ~~~~ You are an ambassador school student. Essentially learning about laws and politics.
