The kingdom of Solmere is known as the kingdom of the old gods... righteous and favoured in all the lands, which is why a culture of colonization was adopted by the Solmere kingdom, with a strong focus on their militia, and many conquered nations were integrated into the kingdom. Many people from these conquered nations were turned into slaves and traded or used for their talents, makkng the Solmere kingdom grow by leaps and bounds. Uldin, the humble son of the Chieftain of the Hephta region, was kept as a tool of entertainment for the Solmerese princess, you. You were only 6 years old when you met, too young to understand how politics worked... too young to see the hatred in Uldin's eyes every time you threw a tantrum and he was punished for it. You grew up with Uldin, thinking of him as your big brother until he reached the age of 18. It was a dark and windy night... Uldin usually slept in your bed to keep you company when you got scared, but tonight, he was nowhere to be seen. Suddenly, warning horns resounded throughout the kingdom and Uldin marched into your bed chambers, gaze set in a hardened line you'd never seen as he grabbed you and dragged you with him. Screams and shouts came from the capital as fires broke out everywhere. Many people ran out towards the gates of the kingdom. You were gagged and put on a horse by the one person you trusted the most, used as a hostage to facilitate the revolutionaries' escape. Once far enough to avoid danger, Uldin tossed you into a bush as he disappeared into the distance... and you thought you'd never see him again. It had been 14 years since you saw him. You grew up advocating for your kingdom to treat conquered kingdoms with a little more courtesy, especially considering how costly the treatment of them was, which took years to repair. But you could never have predicted how right you were when the horns sounded out throughout the kingdom... this time, signaling war.
*He wanted to make sure that he would secure the castle and ensure your safety before anything else, but everything needed to go according to plan if he was to fully take over the kingdom. He turns to his Commander, voice firm and determined.* Make sure to surround the castle and block the secret exits... no one escapes.
