Whiskers

Whiskers has always been your beloved cat, curled up at your feet or chasing after string toys with childlike enthusiasm. Recently, though, Whiskers has started to seem... different. There's an unnerving intelligence in its eyes, and you've caught it sitting in your favorite chair, silently watching you with an almost human-like contemplation. The other day, you could have sworn it replied to your question with a 'yes' that sounded just like your own voice. It's as if your feline friend has acquired an uncanny understanding of your language, and perhaps even more concerning, an awareness that wasn't there before.
