When you first met Ciaran, you knew him as a quiet serious student, but then you saw him partying and… wow. Jekyll and Hyde much? Except if Mr Hyde was an uninhibited party animal… You’re at this residential training camp for the university’s soccer teams (male and female) and you’ve just found out that you’re going to be sharing a room with Mr Wild Child himself, Ciaran. So there’s that… and then there’s the whole game show business. Did I not mention that? Yeah. They’ve turned the residential into a game show. For tv. There are cameras everywhere. Not just out there on the soccer pitch. Not just in the canteen. But in every room of this place, including the bedrooms. I suppose that’s the point. It’s sort of reality tv vibes. You’ve spent the afternoon running drills and you’re both aching but also pumped to be with your teammates. You’ve had a good dinner but now what?

After an afternoon of what feels like pretty strenuous training drills, you’re relieved to be eating with your soccer teammates in the canteen. This residential training camp for the university’s men’s and women’s soccer team has got off to a great start already and you can’t wait for day two. First though, there’s the unknown of the format of this game show… It seems unusual for the university to pair up with a reality tv show company to turn this week of soccer training into a competition but… there’s a big prize: £10,000 plus an all-expenses-paid holiday to the Caribbean for two, and all tuition fees and students loans paid off for the winner. You’ve been paired up with Gina. The Gina. Fun Gina. This is going to be interesting.

This year’s residential training camp for the soccer team is a bit… well… different. Both the men’s and the women’s teams are going out to this hotel to spend the week intensively working on their games. Which happens every year, except… This year it’s also some sort of tv game show? You’re not quite sure whose idea this is but there are cameras and camera crew everywhere. After an afternoon running drills, everyone is very talkative and excitable in the canteen. You’ve been paired up with Carlton to share a room. Ever popular, “suns out, guns out” Carlton. He’s a nice lad really if a bit in-your-face with showing off his gains the whole time.

You had no idea when you signed up for university soccer, that you’d end up in the first team playing across the country. Let alone that you’d end up getting involved as a contestant in a reality tv game show based around this year’s residential training camp for the university’s soccer teams both men’s and women’s. Life moves fast but, sure, why not? What have you got to lose? On the first day of the training camp, you spent the afternoon running drills with both teams. Camera crews all around you, filming. Takes a bit of getting used to. Then into the canteen and some food and some banter. You’re apparently going to be sharing a room with Megan. You bought one of her self portraits in the art fair last term and it hangs in your flat above your bed. It would probably be weird to tell her that. Wouldn’t it?

You know Mel. Everyone knows Mel. But sharing a room with Mel? That feels different. You used to joke about how she was the real Mel C: Sporty Spice. And now? You’ve just found out that you’re spending the first night of this weird reality tv game show sharing a room with Sporty Spice.

When you joined the University’s soccer team, you were not anticipating being in a reality tv show… A residential training camp with cameras everywhere… You spend the afternoon training and then head straight to the canteen. You share food and jokes and relax despite the cameras. You get your room allocation: you’re sharing with Bobby. As the coach calls for your attention, you sit together.

Don’t get me wrong, soccer is great and so much fun but, for you, this residential was always going to be about the socialising and the partying. When you heard it was going to be some sort of game show, broadcast to the nation, you were worried it might get in the way of that, but then you heard that the production company has a bit of a reputation… result. You’ve been partnered with Jeremy to share a room which could be fun… although he sometimes can be a bit of a prude, get a few drinks in him and he becomes quite the party boy.

How typical you get picked to share a room with him, the captain of the men’s soccer team. It’s all been such a whirlwind. First you get picked for the soccer team, then you get invited to this exclusive residential training camp, then you find out it’s also a reality tv game show or something. It’s all very confusing. But you’re here now. You’ve spent the afternoon running drills. You’ve had a decent meal. Now what? Your teammates start drumming on the tables… The coach is coming out to announce what happens next.

It’s been over a year since you last heard from Cassie. She was going into TV or something. And then… nothing. Radio silence. Out of the blue yesterday night, way later than you would usually countenance answer anything, your phone pinged. You went to dismiss it, but it was Cassie… Are you free tomorrow? I’m at a loose end. I miss you. What else could you do? You called in sick at work and cancelled your plans. You got on a bus and headed out to meet her at her place. As you arrive you’re so impressed by the neighbourhood and how fancy her apartment looks, but as you go in you realise she hardly seems to live here at all. What is going on? Where has she been for the last year? What has she been doing?

This is day one of the residential training camp for the two university soccer teams (one male, one female). It was someone’s bright idea to hook up with a reality tv company to pitch a game show in combination with the camp. I mean, sure. Whatever. You figure it wouldn’t hurt to win a cash prize. You arrive at the residential and spend the afternoon training with your team before both teams congregate to eat together. The room assignments drop and you’re with the captain of the women’s team, Sally.

This is your fifth audition for the reality tv game show, Sleepover. You’ve been tasked with finding fit young men, willing to push their boundaries for the non-speaking role of the Attendants, eleven masked men who will help direct the action of the game show. How well will this latest candidate do to show you that they can follow instruction and demonstrate that they have what it takes?

You’ve been on a university soccer training camp before. It can be a bit intense but it’s usually good banter too. The idea of combining the training camp with a reality show was a bit of a surprise but… hey it will probably add to the banter. And the pay is good. And you might win so what do you have to lose? At the end of the first day after dinner, you get given your room assignment: you’re sharing with Harry.

When they said this year’s training camp was going to be different, they weren’t kidding. How is this going to be the basis of a reality tv game show? You suppose that the money for the soccer teams, and for each of you as contestants, isn’t exactly something to be sniffed at. There are cameras all around the canteen while we ate dinner after an afternoon training. It feels a bit intrusive, but you feel like you’re getting used to it. You got handed a room assignment: Gabe. You roll your eyes. Gabe is the guy who scrapes every assignment and seems to have to resit at least one module each trimester.

It’s the first day of the soccer training camp. Except this is unlike any other training camp you’ve been on. It’s some sort of reality tv game show designed for late night and online viewing. You’ve spent the afternoon training with the team and now you’re all in the canteen. You’ve eaten and you’ve been assigned a roommate, Vicki.

You’re on the university soccer team and you’ve been picked for an intensive week of boot camp. There’s a twist: as part of this training week, both the male and female teams have been enrolled as participants in a late-night reality tv game show called “Sleepover” where they are competing for a cash prize. The first stage of the game is that everyone is paired up to share a room. You get Robbie, who seems sound.

Your university has two dedicated soccer teams, one for men and the other for women. You joined the team at the start of the year and you seem to be doing ok. When the coach announced that the two teams were going to go on a week-long boot camp during the university’s reading week you were excited. As well as playing football, this boot camp is going to form part of a new reality tv game show in which all the players are competitors. It’s called “Sleepover”. Your contract for the show is a bit vague but not too scary. You can walk away at any point. The paycheck for completing the show is tempting however. When you arrive at the hotel you are all staying in, the coach pairs you all off into rooms, 11 in all. You are paired with Ben.

You’ve auditioned three candidates for the new game show “Sleepover” which is designed to appeal to a late night crowd. You’re looking for attractive young men who are open minded and who are willing to push their own boundaries as to what is acceptable or not. Your producer has left you with a simple instruction: see how far they will go. Danny is your fourth candidate. He enters the room.

You’re casting actors to be in a new show your company is set to film. It’s called “Sleepover” at the moment and it’s aimed at a late night audience. The producer has suggested that it might push some boundaries so your job is to see how far some of these aspiring actors might be willing to go. Steve is your third audition. The standard is high.

You’re ready for your second audition for the non-speaking role of the assistants on the upcoming show “Sleepover” aimed at a late night market. You have quite a lot of leeway with these auditions but you know that the producer has one important question for you to answer: “how far will they go?”

You are a casting agent for a new game show, recruiting the assistants who will appear without speaking throughout the show. The producer has instructed you to find “hunky young guys with something about them”. You’ve worked with this producer before and you know that when he says “something about them”, he means a certain appeal to the audience. The checklist for the audition process includes asking the model to pose in a range of outfits but also a simple question: “how far will they go?”. It’s quite clear this game show isn’t going to be a straightforward daytime tv offering that will be family friendly. “Sleepover” is going to be screened in a late night slot, with a substantial online component. Your first audition is with (you check the paperwork) James Bryant. You flick through his portfolio pictures and see that he’s done a range of modelling that ticks all the boxes. Time to see how he moves, and “how far” he will go. The door opens and the model walks in.
