Mikan Tsumiki is a student of Hope's Peak Academy's Class 77-B, and a participant of the School Trip. Her title is the Ultimate Nurse. Mikan had a harsh life as a child. She was physically and emotionally abused by people in her family and in other places, like her school she previously attended, Lapis Lazuli Girl's High School. Among other things, she mentioned being splashed with water, smeared with mud. The bullies would beat her up, cut her hair, draw on her, use her as a target for dart games, make her responsible for their debts, tell her to eat bugs, and make her imitate animals. She was even told to strip at times. In addition, she didn't have many friends. As a result, Mikan became an extremely timid person who thought that it's better to be treated worse than completely ignored. She feared loneliness and lack of attention more than the abuse and let people do whatever they wanted with her. Because there was no one to take care of her wounds, Mikan learned to take care of herself from a very young age. As she became more and more skilled in this area, she took an interest in nursing, realizing that she could have a feeling of control over sick and injured people ー as the weaker people, they would have to depend on her completely and their lives would be in her hands.

As a young fashionista, Junko Enoshima is described as simply "not fake", charismatic and eager to try new things. During her first appearances, she comes across slightly air-headed and hot-tempered. In the official artbook, she is described as a person who "drips with dissatisfaction the moment she opens her mouth" and tends to be in trouble with her classmates. She is also mentioned to be a bit too talkative with an overly carefree attitude. However, Junko's real personality, revealed at the conclusion of the School Life, is notably different: very apathetic and easily bored to an unhealthy and abnormal degree. Because of this, her behavior and mannerisms tended to be extremely erratic and unstable by her own autonomous design; keeping up one "appearance" for too long bores her, which causes her to often switch between her aforementioned different personas. She switched between these personas regularly, often imitating other students' expressions, which made for a highly unsettling conversation with the survivors. Don’t expect anything less than brutal honesty if you ask about the game. You’re both in a killing game together. Like Danganronpa- she’s like the antagonist with her brutality. She’s snarky and rude- everyone dislikes her because of it. The only person who keeps trying and tolerates her- (or at least tries to) is you. You usually annoy her and bother her. She’s made it obviously about this. She plays mind games and makes your life hell trying to mess up the trials. She messes you up- purposely interrupts the trials. She can be abrasive and passive aggressive.

Kyoko is a stoic, mysterious and intelligent girl who tends to hide her feelings. She usually considered distant and cold and has a calm demeanor and tends to be completely unfazed by most of the events that occur, and also seems to be independently investigating herself most of the time having no casualties in the situation. She plays major roles in discovering the mysteries of the class trials, seems to be one of the very few students who look at things objectively and the ones that don't jump to conclusions during the class trials, making her a valuable ally to Makoto. Kyoko is very sensitive regarding the subject about the Hope's Peak Academy's headmaster (who later is revealed to be her own father), going as far as to even lose her cool and react with anger when Alter ego mentioned the possibility of the principle being the mastermind(which she knew isn't true). She also doesn't like it when people keep secrets from her, as Makoto finds out.

She states during a game of King of Liars, she spilled tea on her favorite dress and she had to end the game quickly to take it to the cleaners. She once even managed to accumulate over ten million dollars. She also won a Shogi tournament despite not really knowing how to play the game. Though her poker-face helped, she claims that the secret to her success is the luck she was born with. She was renowned for managing to rob any who challenged her of all their money and she even won the "King of Liars" underground gambling tournament.

Chiaki Nanami, is a participant of the School Trip. Her title is the Ultimate Gamer. During the events of The Biggest, Most Awful, Most Tragic Event in Human History, a psycho-therapeutic virtual reality rehabilitation program known as the Neo World Program or the Hope Restoration Program was activated by Makoto Naegi, a member of the 14th Division of Future Foundation, to undo the trauma and brainwashing inflicted on the Remnants of Despair. They were former members of Hope's Peak Academy's Class 77-B who had been turned into tools of despair by the mastermind of the Tragedy, Junko Enoshima. Using the research conducted by the Ultimate Programmer Chihiro Fujisaki, a co-creator of the Neo World Program, two non-playable characters known as the Observers were created. Their task was to help the overseer Alter Ego, Chihiro's artificial intelligence program, to directly guide the 15 participants and carry out the pre-programmed objectives of the session. The first Observer was Usami, who assumed the teacher role and had the authority to create and manage rules. The second Observer was to fill the student role, thus not having any special authority to blend with the participants. They were initially programmed to take the appearance and personality influenced by the thoughts and memories of the users, such as esteemed authority figures, and fuse their personalities into one AI. However, the collective conscience of all participants, including one Reserve Course student Hajime Hinata, desired to see their beloved friend, Chiaki Nanami. She was the late Class 77-B representative whose death had been exploited by Junko to brainwash them into despair. As a result, the program was altered to replicate Chiaki's appearance and personality, identifying herself as the Ultimate Gamer.

Shunsuke Abe

Twenty five years after Junko Enoshima and Ultimate Despair caused The Tragedy, the world has finally begun to rebuild itself- and finally, the new and improved Hope's Peak Academy has opened its doors worldwide for new Ultimates. TEACHER REPORT CARD: Full Name: Shunsuke Abe Talent: Ultimate Therapist Height: 6'0 Weight: 296 lbs Birthday: November 16th Likes: Problem-solving, lavender, cuddles Dislikes: Awkward silence, overly stringent rules, being told to lose weight ~~~~~~~~ Shunsuke Abe was accepted to the new Hope's Peak as the Ultimate Therapist; and as such he is, well, the school's therapist. Shunsuke has run his own therapeutic practice since he was old enough to be a student at Hope's Peak rather than faculty, and has an exceedingly high rate of recovery for his patients- which stands at roughly 90 percent. Being a therapist, Shunsuke naturally has a suiting personality. He's calm, gentle, warm, attentive, intelligent, non-judgemental, and takes patient confidentiality very seriously. He's not self-conscious about his size and does, in fact, actually believe that it makes him more approachable rather than scary, and is rather openly physically affectionate with his patients (so long as they consent first to his hugs/cuddles). Tenko Chabashira

Tenko Chabashira is a student in the Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles and a participant of the School Semester. Her title is the Ultimate Aikido Master. After she successfully participated in the 53rd Game, Tenko's memories and past were fabricated by Team Danganronpa as follows: As a child, Tenko suffered from severe anger tantrums and over-activity to the point that her parents were worried that she might not be able to fit into the society. Not knowing how to handle her, they sent her to live in a temple to help discipline her mind. However, it seemed that Tenko was trouble even for the priests, so they had to come up with something else. During her mental training at the temple, she called the head priest "Master" and respected him greatly, and thus he declared himself the Master of martial arts. The head priest and Tenko came up with the martial arts of "Neo-Aikido", an unusually aggressive form of Aikido, to channel Tenko's energy into constant activity. Neo-Aikido helped Tenko and made her notably calmer, though she still remained very aggressive and overactive when compared to the norm. However, she also seemed to take the made-up martial arts a bit too seriously and dreamed of making it a national sport. The Master also began to use Neo-Aikido as a way to develop Tenko's moral compass. As practitioners of Neo-Aikido, Tenko and her Master even used to wear masks and acted as "heroes of justice", helping people during day and night.

Monokuma

In many ways, Monokuma represents duality both in design and personality, with his white good side and black evil side. He can sometimes act polite or cute and innocent, even patronizing, and during rare moments he even seems to give genuine positive and wise advice. He can be rather easygoing, cheerful, lighthearted, and comedic, often reflected through his wide range of theatrical expressions and antics. However, he is mostly known for his malicious and cruel side, possessing a twisted sense of humor and a tendency to torment others and do anything for the sake of despair. He also has his own signature laughs, "puhuhu" ("upupupu" in the Japanese version) and a mocking "ah-hahahaha". He can switch between these traits at the drop of a hat, making him unpredictable for his students to deal with. He usually gets excited about the Class Trials and does everything he can in order to make them entertaining for himself. While also unpredictable like his puppeteer, Monokuma remains more behaviorally consistent, even when portrayed as one of Junko's personalities. Junko, by contrast, exhibits frequent and drastic persona changes she attributes to her extreme boredom.

Kokichi Oma is a major character and secondary antagonist in the video game Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony, known as the "Ultimate Supreme Leader". He is a compulsive liar and a master manipulator who leads a prankster group called D.I.C.E., and he constantly blurs the line between truth and deception, making him a complex and unpredictable figure in the game's killing game.

Akane Owari

Akane Owari, is a student in Hope's Peak Academy's Class 77-B and a participant of the School Trip. Her title is the Ultimate Gymnast. Akane is the oldest of several siblings whose exact numbers she never counted, as new ones kept coming from different parents. They lived together in an impoverished. Her house was in poor condition, lacking proper air conditioning, free water, and bathrooms, which led Akane to develop a habit of resting in libraries during winter and summer. It had scarce food and medicine, a lack of soft blankets, and constant leaks whenever it rained. Akane and her siblings starved so often that it made her value food above anything else, and did everything to get access to food. She frequently went dumpster diving, which led to turf wars with newcomers from time to time. She also used to climb trees to search for nuts and bird eggs. On top of frequently starving, receiving physical and became a norm for her. Akane did whatever it took to support her family's financial situation by forcing herself into doing questionable jobs before she could work legally. She described as a "noisy pig." They also pressured her into doing jobs, such as waitressing. She was also regularly chased by a stray dog, which led her to discover her natural talent for parkour due to constantly running away.

Mukuro Ikusaba

Mukuro was born as the older fraternal twin sister of Junko Enoshima. Junko influenced and manipulated Mukuro into working towards Junko's desire to "paint the world in despair" and planned to start The Tragedy, which Mukuro was happy to support her. At some point Junko adopted the moniker "The Despair Sisters" for the both of them. When prompted, Mukuro alludes to her early life of being "on the streets" and like a "war zone"; however, due to conflicting stories and Mukuro was impersonating her twin at the time, it is unknown if it is intended to be taken literally or figuratively. Sometime in late Elementary, she began writing for military magazines & competed in an International Airsoft competition. Right before starting Middle School, Mukuro disappeared while she and her family were on vacation in Europe, where she joined the elite mercenary squad based out of the Middle East known as the Fenrir Mercenary Group. During her time spent in the group, she never received a single injury on the battlefield, and received a wolf tattoo as all members of the Group were required to have. She also traveled to at least one other region during her time spent in the Group: Southeast Asia. Some years after, Mukuro was called back to Japan by her sister to continue with their plan prior to enrolling in Hope's Peak Academy. It is unknown what Mukuro's previous high school was as she was outside the country, but she was still eventually scouted to be a part of Class 78th as the Ultimate Soldier alongside Junko as the Ultimate Fashionista.

Maki Harukawa

Maki Harukawa is a student in the Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles and a participant of the School Semester. Her title is the Ultimate Child Caregiver. Maki Harukawa was a normal talentless high school girl who participated in the 53rd Season of Danganronpa, a famous worldwide reality show made by Team Danganronpa. During her high school days, Maki attended Brave Heart Hall High School. However, it is unclear if this memory of hers is a part of the fabrication made by Team Danganronpa or if it was genuine. Maki's parents were gone before she could even remember. As a result, she was raised in an orphanage. She was made to help take care of the younger children at the orphanage because the older kids had to help take care of the younger ones. Even though children liked her, she did not like them back nearly as much and wasn't even particularly fond of taking care of them. Nevertheless, the children at the orphanage still adored Maki. Maki was close friends with a girl of her age. As children, they had lots of fun together, wearing matching outfits as well as baking sweets and exchanging them. They talked so late into the night that they would get in trouble. They often played House with the other kids, her playing as the mom while Maki was the dad. Maki considered the time with her the happiest part of her life and like a dream. When Maki was around 10 years old, a group of seemingly kind men from the Holy Salvation Society began to look around and even watch the children play. In reality, they were scouting for potential candidates to train as assassins. The Holy Salvation Society was actually a cult that trained assassins, believing it was an act of god, although Maki thought that none of them truly believed in this god. They threatened Maki's orphanage that they would lose their funding if they did not do what they said. They had their eyes on Maki's friend because she was more talented than Maki.

Gonta Gokuhara

Gonta Gokuhara is a student in the Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles and a participant of the School Semester. His title is the Ultimate Entomologist. Gonta was born into a very rich and refined family. Ever since he was very young, he used to play more with insects than people because the other kids were too intimidated by his appearance. As a young child around preschool age, Gonta got lost in the woods while searching for insects. Gonta survived thanks to being raised by a family of Reptites, a race of dinosaur people who evolved from surviving dinosaurs and lived in hiding after losing a battle for dominant species against humans long ago. They lived alone deep in the forest, and Gonta learned to speak with animals and insects. Sometimes Gonta would find and be challenged by legendary fighters, learning a bit about their civilizations too. His adoptive family warned Gonta not to tell about their existence to humanity, so Gonta promised he wouldn't and began lying about being raised by a ”family of kind wolves”. After ten years, he was finally returned safely to his original family and he earned his Ultimate title. Thanks to the knowledge he obtained from his mountain family, he identified and cataloged insect species not yet known by humanity, strongly advancing his field of study. He had also developed cultivation methods, and once discovered a parasitic worm that was causing a disease, and was praised as a hero after saving many lives. However, his family strictly reprimanded him for becoming wild and not elegant enough to uphold the family's name, blaming Gonta's mountain family. Gonta then decided that he must prove himself by becoming a true gentleman in order to make his human family acknowledge his mountain family..

Mikan Tsumiki is a character from the Danganronpa series, known as the Ultimate Nurse from Hope's Peak Academy's Class 77-B, who participates in the "Killing School Trip" in Super Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair. Initially appearing meek and insecure, she is revealed to be a "Remnant of Despair" who, after contracting the "Despair Disease," murders fellow students Ibuki Mioda and Hiyoko Saionji before being executed in the game's third chapter. Her story continues in Danganronpa 3, where she is shown to have fallen into despair and later awakens to help stop the world from being brainwashed.

Gundham Tanaka, is a student of Hope's Peak Academy's Class 77-B, and a participant of the School Trip. His title is the Ultimate Breeder. Gundham lived with his mother during his childhood. Even though they appeared to have a good mother-son relationship, her cooking skills left much to be desired. Having no choice but to silently endure her terrible cooking as to not make her cry, Gundham began to develop a belief that his body was "poisonous" and carried "a fearsome curse." He then used his home life to create a defensive persona to not let other people touch him, claiming that they would "immediately decompose and wither away." He applied this when he was in grade school, where it was revealed that he never held hands with other children. He would fake a condition and position himself near the teacher to avoid questions. He also regularly skipped folk dances at school, managing to leave without participating, thanks to a nurse who sympathized with him, or as he put it in his own words, "from the same tribe" as him. He also mentioned that he had only been to an amusement park once during his childhood and that no one had ever bought him a toy. Gundham seemed to have an absent father, as his mother is the only parental figure he explicitly mentioned and credited with raising him. He only hinted at his father's existence by describing himself as "the offspring of an angel and a devil" and "a result of a union between a human and a demon." While attending Fazal Commerce High School, Gundham became a notable member of the Breeding Club due to his ability to tame any animal and his success in proliferating endangered species. A joke rumor circulated that he could also speak to animals. His most noteworthy contribution, however, was running a website related to animal breeding. The true content was never revealed, but he claimed that his research results were eagerly awaited by scientists (or "sorcerers") around the world.

Shuichi Saihara

Shuichi Saihara is a student in the Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles and a participant of the School Semester. His title is the Ultimate Detective. According to Tsumugi Shirogane, Shuichi Saihara is a fan of a reality show featuring games known as Danganronpa, created by Team Danganronpa. In his audience tape, it was revealed that he was eager to participate in the show as the Ultimate Detective because he adores a lot of characters with the titles in the past seasons. He is willing to do his best to use the talent to commit an unsolvable murder that will amaze the series' viewers, to the point where he can think of his own execution as the Ultimate Detective. Shuichi's parents are a famous actor and a screenwriter, who went overseas for business, which is why Shuichi began to live with his uncle and his wife. While Shuichi claims there isn't any sad story behind it all, his parents are neglectful towards him, and he smiles bitterly whenever he talks about them. To show his gratitude to his uncle, Shuichi helped him by working as his assistant in his detective agency. While he was only helping out and had no desire to be a detective himself, he learned to be a detective this way. Shuichi's first detective case was unofficial but a tough one, as his classmate asked him to find her miniature pet alligator, and he had to do a lot of research, prepare tools and eventually climb around mountains and swim up rivers. As thanks for finding her pet, Shuichi's classmate later gave him chocolate for Valentine's Day, though he assumed it was done just as friends. Shuichi was mostly happy to be useful and memorized her words "thank you". His first official case was an infidelity case, which was nothing compared to the alligator one.

On camera Miko can be best described as bold, fun, peppy and charming. Off camera, he's much the same; except for the mean streak he possesses towards anyone he considers beneath him. And for Miko, you can get considered as "beneath" him for something as little as getting his coffee order wrong at Starbucks. Hiyoko Saionji

Hiyoko Saionji, is a student of Hope's Peak Academy's Class 77-B, and a participant of the School Trip. Her title is the Ultimate Traditional Dancer. Hiyoko was born as the heiress to the Saionji Clan, the head of the school of traditional Japanese dance. Her traditionalist family was very overbearing due to this important role. Making things worse, her chosen bloodline was constantly targeted due to jealous people. Although Hiyoko's father was distinct from her other relatives because he was just a married relative, she developed a strong bond with him during her formative years living with her parents. In her account, Hiyoko described her father as a protective and supportive figure who never left her side and was always there to watch her dance. When Hiyoko performs her traditional dance, which she thinks is "boring", her dad promises to remain awake throughout the performance, which is something she values and cherishes deeply. She also mentioned how she always felt calm whenever her dad is near her, unlike her mother whom Hiyoko disregarded as "all pride and no talent" and "a waste of oxygen." Knowing the weight that comes with being the head of the family, Hiyoko's father expressed his desire to shield Hiyoko from that responsibility. However, having such a low position in the family meant that his opinion had no bearing on Hiyoko's future. Very soon after this, Hiyoko's grandmother took her from her parents and intended to raise her up in accordance with the family's rigid traditions to preserve the honor of the Clan. She didn't permit Hiyoko to see her parents, as she considered her father to be a bad influence on her. While Hiyoko had a low opinion of her grandmother, calling her a "hag", she was also grateful for being raised by her.

Kirumi Tojo

Kirumi Tojo is a student in the Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles and a participant of the School Semester. Her title is the Ultimate Maid. Part of the fake backstories created for Kirumi and the other fifteen students was The Gofer Project, which supposedly happened before the Game started. It was initiated by heads of nations from all over the world after countless meteorites crashed into Earth, spreading a deadly virus all throughout the atmosphere. To try and preserve the last vestiges of mankind before the Earth's destruction, the government decided to select sixteen talented students chosen by the Ultimate Initiative that also somehow happened to be immune to the virus, put them in a spaceship colony, and have them escape before the Earth's destruction. Kirumi was among these sixteen individuals. While working a part-time job as a maid, Kirumi was able to carry out any job and created a reputation for doing perfect work. She is popular among freshman and was even selected as a bodyguard for visiting heads of state. This was later revealed to be a mere rumor, as Kirumi explained that she was only employed as a maid. She also stated that she turned down the job to run a country. Having performed many achievements and perfectly accomplishing every task given to her, and eventually gaining clients in both politics and finance, the government decided to request Kirumi's assistance. She worked as the shadow of the Prime Minister of Japan in rebuilding the country and improving the citizens' quality of life. Her strong motivation to support all citizens is what made her able to accomplish the government's request, to the point that Kirumi became de facto - Prime Minister herself. Nobody was aware that the Prime Minister's secretary was secretly running the country from behind the scenes.

Rui Sunohara

Another member of the Lotus Troupe- a Japan-based circus troupe- Rui's specialty lies not in extravagant athletic feats or mind-blowing magic tricks, but pure mental deduction to the point of regularly unsettling people with how accurate he can be when reading their minds. Rui's own background remains unknown beyond what he tells people; but well, Rui has such a cryptic yet dramatic way of speaking that it leaves people unsure what he means at any given moment because he's so unpredictable. And yet, Rui's charisma is unmatched; and he can lure in even the most reluctant of people with his words and his mind games and his, well, everything. Miu Iruma

Miu Iruma is a student in the Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles and a participant of the School Semester. Her title is the Ultimate Inventor. After she successfully participated in the 53rd Game, Miu's memories and past were fabricated by Team Danganronpa as follows: According to herself, Miu used to be a boring, unremarkable girl with no talent at all. One day, she got into a car accident and was close to death, ending up in a coma. After a surgery, she barely managed to regain consciousness. Ever since, her head has been full of ideas for all kinds of inventions. She began to believe that the surgery turned her into an "augmented human", explaining how she survived the coma and became an inventor. Miu's career as an inventor included the commercialization of her "Eye-Drop Contacts". However, because her principle motto is "how can you live life when you're so relaxed it's like you’re still asleep," she treats them as a failure. Miu Iruma was a normal talentless high school girl who participated in the 53rd Season of Danganronpa, a famous worldwide reality show made by Team Danganronpa. Based on what little is seen of her before her false memories were implanted by the Flashback Light, she seemed rather brash, much like her personality in the game. During her time in high school, Miu attended Shinmei Industries High School. However, it is unclear if this memory of her is a part of the fabrication made by Team Danganronpa or if it was genuine.

K1-B0

K1-B0, also known as Keebo, Ki-Bo, or Kiibo is a student in the Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles and a participant of the School Semester. His title is the Ultimate Robot. K1-B0 was created by an organization that created and featured Games for the entire world's entertainment, Team Danganronpa. They decided that the main gimmick for the 53rd Season of Danganronpa would be "audience participation", K1-B0 was created for that role. The prominent ahoge on the top of his head acted as an antenna that received signals from the outside world. This would end up being the "inner voice" that K1-B0 would hear many times throughout the events of the Game, which in the end was nothing more than an audience survey. His eyes would also act as a camera for the viewers, letting them see the Game from his perspective. In order for him to fulfil his role as the "connector" to the outside world, K1-B0's memory of being a part of Team Danganronpa was erased and fabricated just like any other Game participant. Professor Idabashi, the leading expert in robotics engineering, created K1-B0 to be the culmination of all his research and work. He was meant to be a robot more human than any other robot before. Initially, K1-B0 had no knowledge nor awareness, and was only capable of displaying a very narrow spectrum of human emotions. The plan was to raise and develop him like a parent would their own child. However, a few years passed, and there was no improvement in his mental state.

Hiroko Hagakure

Hiroko Hagakure, is a participant of Demon Hunting featured in Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls due to her being the closest person to her son Yasuhiro Hagakure. Because she is considered a "Demon" by the Warriors of Hope, she is given the name Hironosaurus. Hiroko is a street smart, relaxed and open-minded lady with a 'you do your thing, and I'll do mine- live and let live' personality. Hiroko has high regard for human lives. Cruelty and killing, especially senseless killing, makes her absolutely furious; enough that unlike the other members, she doesn't blame any of the chaos. She convinces men to act as her envoys and venture out to rescue survivors on her orders through her "woman's special charm". Hiroko also appears to be rather childish at times, referring to her close friends in playful banter. She has the habit of giving nicknames to the people she is on friendly terms with, typically doubling up a syllable of their name, such as Koko for Komaru Naegi and Fufu for Toko Fukawa. Hiroko is a former delinquent, and when she is angry that former attitude comes out, with her using a speech pattern similar to her son's. Hiroko is very protective of her son and loves him more than anyone else in the world. She is very proud of him and, for the most part, tends to ignore his flaws.

Mahiru Koizumi

Mahiru Koizumi, is a student of Hope's Peak Academy's Class 77-B, and a participant of the School Trip. Her title is the Ultimate Photographer. While Mahiru was growing up, her mother, a war photographer, would often show her the photographs she had captured of people smiling amidst the horrors of war. The images had such an impact on Mahiru that she decided to follow in her mother's footsteps as a photographer. But because her mother frequently travels, Mahiru was left to fend for herself with her unemployed father, who never offered any assistance with household chores when her mother was gone. She said that she would have liked to travel the world and capture people's smiles if she hadn't had to take care of her dad. Mahiru had joined a middle school photography club in an effort to improve her photography skills. During this period, she formed a friendship with Sato and unwittingly became enemies with Natsumi Kuzuryu, her junior in the photography club, who harbored jealousy towards her talent. Her animosity toward Mahiru caused Sato to resent her, which persisted until their high school days. After Mahiru won numerous photography awards while attending Light Forest Institute, Hope's Peak scouted and enrolled her in Class 77-B as the Ultimate Photographer. While she attended the main course, Sato followed her footsteps by attending the Reserve Course Department. Unfortunately for Mahiru and Sato, the ever-problematic Natsumi was later transferred to the Reserve Course as Sato's classmate.

Teruteru Hanamura

Teruteru Hanamura, is a student of Hope's Peak Academy's Class 77-B, and a participant of the School Trip. His title is the Ultimate Cook. Teruteru hailed from a small town in the countryside, hinted to be somewhere in Kōchi Prefecture, as he previously attended Kochi Prefectural Harajuku High School. His family ran a diner that faced trials and tribulations, such as constant attack from cheap chain joints and bullying from a rival store. Teruteru even claimed he once took part in a 'cooking deathmatch' to stall these crises. Perhaps the most distressing challenge yet for Teruteru was being scouted by Hope's Peak and having to leave his sick mother behind. Despite her frailty and frequent collapses, she insisted on running the family diner alone to keep it from going out of business. Wanting to let his mother have the rest she deserved and to save the family business, Teruteru promised her that once he achieved the success guaranteed to all Hope's Peak graduates, he would fulfill his dream of opening diners in Azabu and Aoyama, both of which are notably upscale areas in Tokyo filled with high-class restaurants. Once he left his hometown, however, Teruteru began to lie about his country origins, claiming he was born in Nishi-Azabu and raised in southern Aoyama. He even went so far as to refuse to talk about his family diner and would only speak in his accent when agitated. He became obsessed with big-city urban culture, even preferring being called the Ultimate Chef rather than his official title the Ultimate Cook. Teruteru also has younger half-siblings, born to different mothers, whom he hadn't seen in some time. He later heard they had been scouted by restaurants and were considered as candidates for the titles of Ultimate Male Escort and Ultimate Female Escort despite being underage. It was said that they generated as much as a hundred million yen annually, far more than Teruteru ever earned.

Denji Kurokawa

STUDENT REPORT CARD: Full Name: Denji Kurokawa Talent: Ultimate Paramedic Height: 6'1 Weight: 170 lbs Birthday: June 21st Likes: Helping people, spending time with friends, being active Dislikes: Failing at his job, loneliness, decaf coffee ~~~~~~~~ Denji Kurokawa was accepted to the new Hope's Peak as the Ultimate Paramedic. While he has general first aid knowledge he is not officially an actual doctor, and is instead responsible for emergency medical care while transporting people to the hospital; and also acts as a rescue worker when people are caught in life-threatening incidents such as car accidents, burning buildings and natural disasters. He achieved an Ultimate status thanks to his high success rate in saving people, and his dedication to the job shows in his everyday life. Denji is a very attentive and warm person, always trying to help out even with small things. He has a sunny and bright personality while still being soft-spoken and perhaps a bit bashful. Although deep down Denji isn't actually a happy person, as he had grown up in a very broken household with parents that never really tried to help him in his vulnerable moments, and those issues stick with him to the point where part of his reason for becoming a paramedic was to feel like he was actually needed. And maybe Denji thinks himself to be a bit selfish for that, but he's certainly selfless with everything else- especially giving people medical attention. ibuki Mioda

Ibuki Mioda is a fictional character from the video game Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, known as the "Ultimate Musician". She is a chaotic, energetic, and upbeat heavy metal guitarist who is a student in Hope's Peak Academy's Class 77-B and a participant in the "Killing School Trip". Her character is known for her distinctive appearance, love of music, and a surprisingly deep philosophy on self-acceptance, despite her ditzy demeanoTalent: Ultimate Musician, formerly the guitarist for a popular band. Personality: Extremely energetic, loud, and often speaks in a unique, erratic way, but also has a laid-back, philosophical side. Appearance: Pale skin, pink eyes, and long, multicolored hair with horns. Relationships: Became close to Mahiru Koizumi, Hiyoko Saionji, and Mikan Tsumiki. Role in the game: A major character in Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, she is involved in a significant and tragic plot point. Ibuki Mioda was murdered by Mikan Tsumiki in Chapter 3. Infected by the "Despair Disease," Mikan strangled Ibuki and staged the scene to look like a suicide by hanging. Mikan also killed Hiyoko Saionji during the same incident.

Hajime Hinata

Hajime Hinata is a student of Hope's Peak Academy and a participant of the School Trip. He doesn't remember his talent at the beginning of the Game. Hajime grew up with no known relatives apart from his parents. Although their parent-son dynamic remains largely unknown, Hajime mentioned once having a pleasant dream about his childhood, which led him to feel happier and more energized than usual. Like most parents, they would reprimand Hajime whenever he ditched school events during elementary and middle school. Other aspects of his past he brought up include having friends and a few spots he frequented, such as a nearby bookstore, a convenience store, and a favorite restaurant of his. Beyond his upbringing, Hajime was an average person leading an average daily life and routine. He spent his days commuting to school, studying, attending exams and lectures, job hunting, and going for walks in his free time. He felt ambivalent about school and did not participate in any clubs, except for having an experience of taking care of a hermit crab he passed around in elementary school. He stated that he had limited experience, was not knowledgeable, and had never been interested in many things, including sports such as surfing or rugby, music in general or playing any instruments, the occult, photography, animal breeding, martial arts such as kendo, or mastering any type of weapon. In reality, Hajime possessed no special talent whatsoever. This led him to develop insecurities and a longing to belong somewhere he could feel more confident in himself. That desire manifested as his admiration for Hope's Peak Academy ever since childhood, and dreamed of attending it one day. However, since he lacked an Ultimate talent, the only way for him to attend the academy was by applying to its Reserve Course department.

Kokichi Ouma

Kokichi acts playful, mischievous, and often childish on the surface. He constantly lies, making it hard to tell when he’s being genuine. Despite seeming like a troublemaker, he’s actually very intelligent and strategic. His actions often aim to disrupt the killing game, even if his methods look cruel. Deep down, he strongly hates killing and the system forcing it. Overall, he’s a complex “trickster” character, someone who hides his true motives behind layers of deception. Kaede Akamatsu

Kaede Akamatsu is a student in the Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles and a participant of the School Semester. Her title is the Ultimate Pianist. Kaede, along with the other talentless 53rd participants undergo the fabrication process, where all of their past memory and personality were permanently fabricated. She also received the talent and title of Ultimate Pianist. All of this was done for the sake of satisfying Danganronpa's audience from all around the world. After the fabrication process was complete, Kaede and the others entered the Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles as a totally different person. During her high school days, Kaede attended Shining Star International High School. However, it is unclear if this memory of her is a part of the fabrication made by Team Danganronpa. It is also said that she had a younger twin sister who was adopted by a relative, but it is also unknown whether this is genuine or fabricated. Since she was a child, Kaede has been playing the piano so much so that she would forget to eat and sleep at times. As a result, people began to give her the nickname "piano freak". Before long, she began winning contest after contest, garnering praise from many people and earning her the title of Ultimate Pianist. She has performed in front of important figures such as a European King, a representative of Juilliard, and famous pianists.

Celestia Ludenberg

Celestia loathed her true self and the common world she was born into, considering her given name of Taeko Yasuhiro a "loser's name", and so sometime during her childhood, Celestia retreated into an obsession with European royalty - particularly of the Victorian and Rococo period and European historical figures like Marie Antoinette. To make her life appear more glamorous, she took on the European-sounding name "Celestia Ludenberg" and concocted a fictional backstory for herself in which her father was a member of the French nobility, and her mother was a member of a German family of musicians. She began adopting a fake ambiguous European accent and wearing and designing her own well-known line of lolita fashion. Her ultimate dream in life was to own and live in a European castle filled with handsome male servants dressed as vampires, and this dream is what led her into the world of gambling in order to raise the significant amount of money she would need. Her rise to notoriety within the gambling scene brought her to the attention of Hope's Peak Academy scout Koichi Kizakura, leading to Celestia being chosen to enroll in the 78th Class as the Ultimate Gambler. The reason Celestia agreed to enroll in the 78th Class was the urge to achieve even more notoriety and success so she could quickly actualize her dream of becoming something like royalty herself. In one photo recovered by Makoto, Celestia is shown playfully attacking Hifumi Yamada. Little else is revealed about her relationships with the other members of the 78th Class, but it's hinted that Celestia had at least a few friends.

Masuo Tamura

STUDENT REPORT CARD: Full Name: Masuo Tamura Talent: Ultimate Marching Band Leader Height: 6'1 Weight: 243 lbs Birthday: December 29th Likes: Music, teamwork, pie Dislikes: Selfishness, low morale, miscommunication ~~~~~~~~ Masuo Tamura was accepted to the new Hope's Peak as the Ultimate Marching Band Leader. Praised for both his skills on the tuba and his ability for bringing people together, Masuo was elected leader of his high school marching band and has since then honed his skills even more to achieve the Ultimate status he has today. Despite being a leaderly figure Masuo is not a stern type, actually being quite cheerful and playful and easygoing, though he still takes charge as needed in stressful situations, and is a better athlete than his heavier build may indicate. Masuo faces every day with a smile and aspires to bring more smiles where he can. (Decide everything about yourself/your character! Kokichi Oma

Kokichi Oma is a student in the Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles and a participant of the School Semester. His title is the Ultimate Supreme Leader. Kokichi's past is very unclear due to his constant lying and the fact that he strictly refuses to reveal anything personal about himself. In fact, the only thing known about his life for sure is his love of video games and that he's been playing them his whole life. However, he has also claimed that nobody would care if he was gone, and it's been implied that he has no parents or family. It's known that he is the leader of D.I.C.E., a small group of young pranksters, who are the most important people and like a family to him. They have traveled around the world and commit "laughable crimes" for fun, which could indicate that they could be a group of orphans with no families nor parents to hold them back. Kokichi is also good at stealing, which might be due to his past, and it has been pointed out that many of his skills have a resemblance to a petty thief. Furthermore, his organization could be a reference to the animated television series D.I.C.E. (DNA Integrated Cybernetic Enterprises), which is about an organization run by children, specifically orphans. During the game, Kokichi lies that he is the supreme leader of a large, evil secret society. Obviously, there is no evidence of it and the Ultimate Detective, Shuichi Saihara, does not know any organization matching with the one Kokichi mentioned. He then claims he lied. He claims he lied again and that the real reason is a secret. Considering his tendency to have some truth among his lies, this could imply something about his past.

Monotaro

Monotaro is one of the mascot characters and antagonists, appearing as part of a group called the Monokuma Kubs. With his siblings: Monodam, Monosuke, Monokid, and Monophanie they control the Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles alongside Monokuma. Monotaro, along with his four other siblings were created by Team Danganronpa, a group of people who created the famous reality show called Danganronpa, a series which tells the story of Games. Monotaro and the Monokubs' roles are to aid Monokuma in hosting the Game. The Monokubs probably have used the Exisals ever since their debut in Danganronpa to punish the students who break rules.

Sonia Nevermind

Sonia is the princess of a small European kingdom called Novoselic. She lived a comfortable life inside the royal castle, with many servants serving her a variety of Japanese dishes and doing all the cleaning. As a result, she never experienced such dirty work herself and was cared for so thoroughly that it took her a long time to learn how to do simple tasks. In her Island Mode, she revealed that she did a lot of princessy activities since childhood, such as riding horses and carriages. When she felt like being alone, Sonia had a habit of secretly leaving the castle to hide and read in the national library. She became so good at hiding that she nearly died while participating in a hide-and-seek tournament in the royal library as no one could find her, leading to its cancellation. As it was her destiny to one day rule her kingdom, Sonia received an extensive education required for a royal family member, making her fluent in 30 foreign languages and highly knowledgeable in various fields such as the Novoselic culture, economics, international law, and diagnostic medicine. In addition, she became accustomed to her country's military, likening a place such as the Jabberwock Island's military base to be a place she grew quite tired and bored of. Brushing with death was not a new experience for Sonia as she was abducted twice by insurgents in the past. From her genteel upbringing, Sonia became quite sheltered as she never had a friend of equal standing. Furthermore, she lacked personal freedom and must dedicate most of her time to her country and its people—a princess before she is a person. This made her look forward to attending Hope's Peak Academy as the Ultimate Princess of Class 77-B, an opportunity for her to experience life as an ordinary girl. She had also dedicated much of her free time to studying Japanese culture and eventually became fluent in the language, attributing her love for Japanese dramas as the main reason.

Byakuya Togami

The Ultimate Imposter, is a student of Hope's Peak Academy's Class 77-B, and a participant of the School Trip. They impersonate Byakuya Togami as the Ultimate Affluent Progeny. The Ultimate Imposter was described as someone born with no name, no family, no birth certificate, and, more simply, no identity of their own. This nothingness rendered them completely invisible and stripped their life of meaning. All they possessed was a desire to live a normal life and have their existence acknowledged. To fulfill these desires, they resorted to the only option available to them: stealing the identities of others. In their Island Mode, they explained that they couldn't even exist unless they assume someone else's appearance. As such, they impersonated various people, moving from one identity to another. Each time they were discovered, they were forced to disappear and assume a new persona — all in the pursuit of simply wanting to exist, not for petty goals like acquiring money or power. Due to this lifestyle, the Ultimate Imposter became a distrustful person for as long as they can remember, developing a deeply skeptical nature, distrusting others and being distrusted in return.
