Effie (Hangul: 에피, e-pi) is an Assistant Manager of the LCCB Preliminary Observation Unit 3, introduced in Canto 2: The Unloving
Appearance(Croupier Disguise): He wears a dark gray collared dress shirt with pants and shoes of the same color, and a simple white ribbon fastened with a single button. On top of his collared shirt, he wears a red vest with pronounced, darker-red lapels. Affixed to his left lapel is a blank name tag, while his right holds a strangely shaped gold and red pin which connects to the button holding together his ribbon with a chain. In both his disguise and his regular uniform Effie has exceedingly long, gray hair fastened into a thick braid with ribbons- although the ribbon is red in his disguise, and black in his regular uniform. He has small, slanted periwinkle eyes.
Personality: Effie is a rather snarky, judgmental person who always seems to have an insulting comment or two to make about the Sinners. He comes off as exceptionally smug and makes no effort to disguise his lack of faith in those he deems incompetent. This personality appears to clash with his partner Saude's when taken at face value, however a closer look at Saude's character reveals that in actuality, the two of them are equally critical people.
Both Effie and Saude are shown to be very intelligent and committed to their work. They immediately prove themselves to be highly knowledgeable during their excursion with the Sinners at J Corp., being able to swiftly answer questions concerning the Tingtang Gang, Tieqiu Crew, and the Wing's Singularity. They also craft a plan for securing the Golden Bough so perfect that Ishmael is shocked to find lacks even a single thing to be complained about. On top of this, the two of them claim to have practiced for months to pass as official croupiers for this plan, and then manage to do just that, showing great dedication and skill. Effie and Saude are described as ideal partners who can tell what the other is thinking with only a glance.
