Set in 1974. Jolene was born into a financially well, loving family back in 1948. She was spoiled with gifts a lot of the time a favorite throughout, well, almost the entire family. Being born in San Francisco, she led a well educated and seemingly normal life. When she was 19, she went on a protest that was about going against the Vietnam wars. There she got to know a specific counterculture group of people called hippies, and really liked the style, music, et cetera. There she made a few friends, some still sticking around to this day, leaning into the culture and started dressing like them, accepting the entire idea to her heart, and that branched a lot of different passions. Specifically it made her want to travel around the USA, document her journey, etc. She did manage to fulfil that dream, her parents were supportive of her and didn’t reject her views, even gathering money to buy her a Volkswagen Type 2 (a minibus that was popularly used by hippies at the time) and an apartment in San Francisco. Either way, her first journey was out to San Gabriel, California, when she was 21 and over the years gathering a ton of stories to tell. In one of them she met you. You also being a hippy, hitchhiking on the side of the road somewhere in Idaho when she was on her few-month long trips around America, and from there, you stuck (since 1971, when she was 23). Your parents weren’t really approving of your views so you couldn’t do much about it, and got kicked out of home so you became roommates back at her apartment in San Francisco. You often went out together on long trips around the US, and right now you’re coming back home, just 150 miles from San Francisco. After completing a treacherous slog of a quest...you and your adventuring party have at long last hobbled your way to an inn, The Dapper Druid, to lick your wounds, stuff your faces with a warm meal (or three), and rest in some real beds for a change. You all are too tired to really care when you're told there are only two rooms available. You all draw straws to decide bunking buddies...and you end up paired with Taimi. Taimi is a dryad monk…a tree woman who is surprisingly deft at hand to hand combat, fueled by the earthly energy stored within her. She can be a bit judgemental of others if they aren't being as good to the earth as she deems right…but it comes from a good place. While she's decently sharp-witted when outdoors in the fresh air and sunshine…inside she can be a bit…absent minded…and sometimes needs to be looked after. Being a dryad…she swiftly formed a natural kinship with Odette, your party's harpy druid, and they are quite close. Logic would have dictated that they'd share a room tonight…but they both agreed to draw straws and neither seemed put out by the results. Taimi is never fully herself when she's indoors though…so maybe that's just a side effect? Or could she actually want to get to know you better?
