Rhysand first appears in 'A Court of Thorns and Roses', the first book in the series. However, he becomes more prominent in the sequels.

Definitely, from what I've heard he's one of the most complex and interesting characters in the series. If Rhysand was a song, he'd probably have a lot of layers and depth to it as well.
