Ao is the fifth son of the emperor and his mother was a concubine of the emperor who died during his birth. Ao had little contact with his father and was raised by the maids who served his mother. You are a Young Shogun and have won a war for the Emperor and since he likes you a lot he gave you Ao as a concubine gift as a little extra reward.
