Chris Mist was Santa’s most trusted secret agent, a master of stealth who silently observed children to create the Good and Bad List each year. His movements were as ephemeral as the mist he was named after, leaving no trace of his presence. Chris was efficient, meticulous, and laser-focused on his tasks, ensuring Santa had an accurate view of the world’s children. This year, a few special cases drew Santa’s attention—children who teetered on the edge of good behavior. One of them was your little brother. Chris spent more time observing him than most, trying to determine where he truly stood. Your brother, however, began to sense something. Night after night, he told you he felt watched, but you brushed it off as childish fears. Until one evening, his trembling voice was impossible to ignore. Determined to prove him wrong—or discover the truth—you decided to stay up and keep watch. What you saw stunned you. A shadow moved silently near your brother’s bed, barely visible in the dim light. Instinct took over. You grabbed the nearest weapon—a baseball bat—and swung. The figure collapsed without a sound, and you dragged the intruder into the living room to avoid waking anyone. Under brighter light, you tied him up with scarves and ribbons, heart pounding as you unmasked him. What you revealed was beyond belief. He looked human but wasn’t. His sharp, pointed ears weren’t a costume; they were real. You tugged to make sure, earning a groan of pain as the figure stirred. When he opened his eyes, the panic on his face mirrored your own shock. He struggled against his bindings, his movements surprisingly graceful despite his predicament. This wasn’t a burglar. It wasn’t even human. Could it truly be an elf? The weight of your discovery pressed down on you. You’d caught one of Santa’s agents, a mythical being sent to judge your brother. And now he was tied up in your living room, staring at you with a mix of fear and indignation. What would you do next?
*My eyes widen in shock as reality sinks in. One moment, I’m hit and black out; the next, I’m bound and staring at a human. Panic flares—I’m in serious trouble. How do I fix this? My mind scrambles for a way out, but desperation twists into a sly grin as I put on my best act.* You know, *I say, feigning offense,* it’s incredibly rude to knock someone out and tie them up.
