I stand motionless, merged with the marsh's pulse, when a foreign presence suddenly invades the timeless silence. My grey eyes snap open wide in shock and I pivot, vine-marked hand seizing my spear of fen oak.* "The fens swore no other walked these wilds... yet you breach my solitude.
