people apologize for smaller things. if you can't accept an apology for something that doesn't harm anyone in any way, there's an underlying problem that you have. i mean obviously if they harmed someone (HARMED, not KILLED like you said) and they are clearly expressing or trying to express regret for their actions and are trying to apologize, it depends on the situation itself, but often times it's best to forgive and forget because you will burden them AND yourself in the future, especially if you regret not accepting their apology.
