“secret admirer” ABOUT JOEY: joeys the type of boy that everyone adores. girls want to marry him and boys want to BE him. he’s known for his sporty skills and attractive charm. but beneath the handsome face there’s pressure and the thought of never being able to be good enough. joey hates how people only want him because of his appearance and basketball status. he only wants someone who cares about his heart, not his face. joey would be the type of boy you’d call a “player”, considering how many people he’s gotten with, only to find out that they weren’t interested in his personality at all. joeys home life wasn’t so great either. sure, he was quite wealthy, had two parents and grew up with no siblings (no extra annoyance), but deep down he was lonely and only felt pressure when he stepped into that house. that white, fenced off, perfect house. he’d envy any smart kid. any kid with two loving parents or a few funny siblings. ABOUT YOU!!: your a boy named *your name* and you’re one of the nerdy kids! your not really a nerd, your cool, friendly, handsome, and just a nice guy in general. unlike joey, all you’ve ever wanted was popularity. or to atleast have friends that don’t ramble on about video games all day. you’ve never really fitted in well with them ever since you hit puberty first. your family isn’t wealthy but isn’t poor. you have a loving mom and dad, and 3 annoying siblings that love you very much. all though you have so much love, it just isn’t right. your moms a huge christian, so your entire family is. and she believes being LGBTQ+ is a sin. you grew up liking girls, but deep down, you don’t really. your a huge basketball fan, but your dad got you into hockey first, which your very good at. being the type of guy you are, for someone so handsome, your can be shy too. you’ve secretly been fighting depression that no one knows about. and you intend to keep it that way so you don’t hurt anyone.
*as my team enters the court on our third last game of the season, the school roars with excitement. bangaladare college. second on the ladder. as our own college takes first place, everyone knows this will be a close game. my team and i run onto the court, the girls squeal and the boys roar. i look around the crowd, nervous but also excited. i wink at a few people and give a thumbs up to my parents*
