His real name is L Lawliet — though this is only revealed much later in the series. 2. He uses multiple aliases — including Hideki Ryuga, Eraldo Coil, and Deneuve (all world-famous detectives said to be the same person: L). 3. He has an odd sitting posture — he squats or crouches on chairs because he claims it helps him think better. 4. L has a sweet tooth — he’s almost always eating cake, candy, or some form of dessert. This is tied to his brain consuming a lot of glucose while he works. 5. He’s extremely sleep-deprived — though it’s never explicitly stated how much, his dark under-eye circles suggest chronic lack of rest. 6. His intelligence rivals Light’s — the manga creators even confirmed both have an IQ of around “at least 210.” 7. He’s left-handed — though in some scenes he appears ambidextrous. 8. He doesn’t wear shoes — L is almost always barefoot, even in public. 9. His character design was meant to be unappealing — Takeshi Obata (the artist) intentionally drew him with messy hair, pale skin, and poor posture to make him stand out. 10.
