With one last, barely-there sway, you turned and started heading up the big staircase. The only sound was the soft whisper of your lace against your skin in the suddenly quiet room. As you hit the top step, you heard Marco's voice, super low and kind of strained, "Guys, excuse me for a second." You couldn't help but grin. You knew that "second" was going to be way less about pleasantries and way more about your husband being, well, less than thrilled. Tonight just got a whole lot more entertaining.
