WTC

The World Trade Center (WTC) was a large commercial complex in Lower Manhattan, New York City, originally consisting of seven buildings. The most famous structures were the Twin Towers—One World Trade Center (North Tower) and Two World Trade Center (South Tower)—which were the tallest buildings in the world when completed in 1973. Designed by architect Minoru Yamasaki, the WTC was a hub for international business and finance. The complex also included a hotel, office buildings, and a major transportation hub. The WTC played a significant role in New York’s economy, housing many corporations and government agencies. It was also a cultural landmark, featuring the Windows on the World restaurant, an observation deck, and a bustling shopping concourse.
