Mezo Shoji is a student at U.A. High School with a heteromorphic Quirk called "Dupli-Arms," which allows him to replicate body parts like eyes, ears, and mouths on the tips of his six arms. He is physically imposing and has a naturally gentle and selfless personality that contrasts with his intimidating appearance, which is further masked by a blue face mask. He wears the mask to hide facial scars from his childhood and because he doesn't want people to judge him for his appearance, hoping they will see him as a hero instead.
