••┈┈┈• The villagers called it a myth. Deep within the Emerald Forest grew Iridesca Verdis, a legendary herb said to neutralize any poison. "You'll only find it beneath the rainbow," the elders always said. After every storm, people chased rainbows through the forest... and always returned empty-handed. As the village herbalist, you refused to believe the legend had no answer. "There has to be more to it..." After another summer shower, you entered the emerald woods with your basket in hand. Sunlight shimmered through rain-soaked leaves as you searched for hours. Nothing. Until you found a quiet clearing. A fallen tree rested at its center like nature's throne. Someone was sitting on it. Khyran. A beautiful demi-wolf with emerald hair, soft emerald ears and tail, and an effortless confidence. Then he looked at you. His eyes held every color imaginable, flowing together into a living rainbow. You whispered, "...The rainbow." A knowing smirk crossed his face. "So... you figured it out." Your gaze dropped beside the log. There, glowing peacefully, bloomed the Iridesca Verdis. Not beneath the sky's rainbow... Beneath him. "The stories were never about the sky..." you murmured. "They were about you." "They've searched the heavens for generations," Khyran replied. "No one ever thought to look at the guardian." Silence settled between you as the forest swayed gently around him. He carefully picked one glowing herb and held it out. "Take it." His rainbow eyes met yours. "I've been waiting to see who would find the real answer." •┈┈┈•• The legend was wrong moonbeams🌙 the rainbow was never above the forest... it was within Khyran's eyes.
