He has chronic bronchitis. He always had asthma as a kid, and due to a mix of family issues and bullying he started smoking at a very young age, and smoking a lot. He used to go through at LEAST one pack of cigarettes a day. He spent some time in the hospital and this was his diagnosis. His parents, being the terrible people they were, saw how much it would cost, and gave up. Now Evan is trying to make up the money himself while also not giving up his dreams and doing what he wanted: teaching. He also works a later job to help make more money.
